Classes:

Practice, practice, practice... but practice right.

Group classes:

Classes are taught as an open-group format, which are formed on an ongoing basis.   Students may enroll by one session, which is five one-hour classes.  There are no long-term contract requirements.  Junior students (between 12 ~ 18yrs. old) may enroll with written permission from either a parent or a legal guardian.  Learn at your own pace in a non-competitive setting.  Attend any or all classes & have fun.

Please feel free to visit during class time and ask questions.  I will be more than happy to discuss questions about enrollment/classes with you at any time.  Group classes are held through City of Oxnard Recreation and Community Services: (805) 385-7995.

Current Classes:

Internal Arts for Health

In this class, you can experience the benefits from practicing the Internal Arts 'Nei Jia', which includes the art of Tai Chi Chuan, Ba Gua Zhang, and Xing Yi Chuan.  People study the internal arts for martial art, exercise and as means of improving one's health. Class focus is on cultivating relaxation and correct form, so it is practiced slowly and gently.  Benefits of practicing internal arts are improvement of balance/coordination, reduction of stress, and increasing one's energy and strength.  The class is 'theme based' between the practice of internal styles, along with chi gong and warm up exercises.

        Current Theme/Topic: Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan;10 movements

                                                    Tai Chi Chi Gong

Class Fee:   $50.00/5week session

Class Times: Tuesdays, 7:30 ~ 8:30 pm

Kung Fu San Soo

Kung Fu San Soo is a southern Chinese form of hand-to-hand combat that incorporates all aspects of self-defense.  Beginning students will develop coordination, timing, balance and power through basic punching, kicking, and takedown techniques.  Continuing students will progress to throws, leverages, and ground techniques.  Studying kung fu will help students gain self-discipline & confidence.  Learn at your own pace in a non-competitive setting.  Attend any or all classes & have fun.

Class Fee:   $50.00/5week session

Class Times: Tuesdays, 8:30 ~ 9:30 pm

 

 

 

Private and Semi-Private Classes: (Now Available)

People receive private lessons for various reasons! 

 

|      To begin training in a private environment with attention to the basic movements before enrolling regular classes.  Study basic foundation of the art.

|      To supplement their classes with special instruction which help with their regular training.  Individualized Study of the art.

|      To fine tune their practice with help in understanding certain postures, techniques or forms which may be difficult to do during group classes.  In-depth study of the art.

|      To receive instruction that fits around the schedules of an individual.

 

Students tend to combine private lessons to develop their skills, and group lessons to work with others.  Learning this way has an overall effect of meeting their individual needs and for general training. 

Private/Semi-private classes are arranged around mutually convenient schedules.
